I know therapy takes real vulnerability, so I bring my full, authentic self to meet clients with connection and facilitate meaningful change who are looking for more than just someone to nod along.

Holistic and Relational Counseling

Who I Am

Vic Tedrow

LPC, MA

I decided to become a counselor because, as someone who's been on the other side of the couch, I believe deeply in the power of being seen by a caring other.

I am a licensed professional counselor in Virginia (LPC). I received my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in Harrisonburg, Virginia at Eastern Mennonite University. I have additional training in trauma-informed modalities, including Internal Family Systems, EMDR, and Somatic-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I am currently finishing specialized training in Inference-Based Cognitive Behavior Therapy (I-CBT) for OCD and Expressive Arts Therapy. I’ve worked with ALL ages with a background in university work, non-profit organizations, and outpatient therapy.

On a personal note: Coffee shop hopper, bookstore browser, animal crossing lover, amateur gym go-er, and nature admirer. Tropical islands are my happy place. AND I have two elderly cats that will join our virtual sessions from time to time! Some lived experiences include significant loss, chronic Illness, OCD, and LGBTQ+ identity.

Small acts of care and attention

create big change

Origin Story

The idea of micro-tending came from a walk! I was soothing myself by taking myself on a walk to the river, listening to the sound of the water, and reflecting on what it means to care for ourselves. I realized how I was making self-care ANOTHER thing to feel overwhelmed by or to “check off my list.” I liked the framework shift to invite a new relationship to showing care for myself and others.

Like the Butterfly Effect says, small changes matter and are significant to the whole. The micro moments become the macro.

Micro-Tending:

The act of tending to ourselves in each micro moment. Small acts of care and attention create big change.

“Your mind is like a piece of land planted with many different kinds of seeds: seeds of joy, peace, mindfulness, understanding, and love; seeds of craving, anger, fear, hate, and forgetfulness. These wholesome and unwholesome seeds are always there, sleeping in the soil of your mind. The quality of your life depends on the seeds you water…The seeds that are watered frequently are those that will grow strong.”
